Bulk Modulus Volume Calculator

This bulk modulus(B or K) is used to calculates the ratio of the pressure(ΔP) increase to the resulting decrease of the volume(ΔV).

Bulk Modulus Volume Pressure Formula:

The bulk modulus(K or B) is defined as the ratio of infinitesimal pressure increase to a decrease of the volume.The bulk modulus K > 0 can be formally defined by the equation

K = -V ΔPΔV

Where,

K - bulk modulus in pascal

V - volume in m3

ΔP - pressure in pascal

ΔV - changed volume in m3

The - (minus) is due to the fact that the change in volume is always opposite the sign of the change in pressure.

ΔPΔV - denotes the derivative of pressure with respect to volume.
